About Lienfarm

Lienfarm is the organic herb farm located in Asahikawa, Hokkaido.

The owner, after 12 years training agriculture and studying phytotherapy in France, returned to Japan to start the farm.

We produce JAS-certified organic herbs by using biodynamic farming methods and EM(Effective Microorganisms) based natural faming.

We are the only producer in Japan to use the traditional French manufacturing methods to create and sell a variety of herb products, including herbal teas, spices, essential oils and aroma distilled waters.

For the visitors

The farm is open to visit as the visiting day on every Tuesdays and Thursdays (14:00-16:00) from May to September. This is two-hour farm tour that includes workshops.

What can you do
on the visiting day?

The staff will guide you through the fields and show the herb drying shed
You can experience hand-picking herb harvesting. You can also take home the herbs you pick!
You can make your own herbal tea blend by guidance in the workshop

Volunteer With Us

Are you passionate about farming, sustainable agriculture, and an alternative life style? We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us. Here at Lienfarm, we've been hosting volunteers from both Japan and abroad for years. As part of the agreement the farm provides free accommodation and a weekly food provision for our volunteers and in return they help us out on the farm.

Duration:

Accommodations:

Comfortable living arrangements, shared house, free food provision.

Work hours:

5 hours per day, 5 days per week

What We’re Looking For:

・Ages 20s to 40s

・Able to stay for a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks

・Physically fit and confident in their ability to perform manual work

・Able to live in a group setting

・Experience in farming or gardening is preferred

・Comfortable with outdoor experiences

Please Be Aware:

We have a small staff team so volunteer supervision is very limited. We will support and train volunteers in their roles, but do expect volunteers to be capable of working independently and safely.
